Where does your proteins come from?
The short answer is from plant-based proteins! But depends from product to product, but you can be certain of one thing: We don’t add the proteins. The protein in our products comes solely from the ingredients. A good example is our protein chips that are based on 100% organic red lentils. The high level of protein only comes from the red lentils.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Also depends from products to products, but a minimum of 12 months.
Are your products vegan?
A vast majority of our products are vegan. Some of the flavorings that we use are not vegan.
Are your products gluten free
Are all your products organic?
Yup. It’s even stated in our name.
Are your ingredients non-GMO?
That’s a given, when you are under the organic legislation of the European Union and especially the strict organic rules of Denmark.
Do your products contain sugars or other sweeteners?
We never sweeten our product with artificial sweeteners. We sometimes add a bit of organic cane sugar, but very little. A rule of thumb for The Organic Crave is to keep the sugars levels below 10% in total sugars. That’s only 1/10.
What does no added sugar and reduced sugar mean?
No added sugar is a legal claim that states that no sugars have been added. The problem is that organic products often times use dates as the main ingredient, which are full of sugars (between 30-40% of these products are just sugar). Non-organic products are just filled with artificial sweeteners that are associated with a multitude of negative effect. We would rather keep things classy and go for the reduced sugar of a minimum of 50% with an extra goal of lowering the total amount of sugars to just below 10%.
What does high protein mean?
Can be claimed when a product’s total energy content comes from at least 20% of protein.
What does clean label mean?
There are no official explanation for clean label, but as a rule of thumb it’s about keeping the ingredient list as short as possible and use ingredients that people can pronounce. We believe that organic is one of the best ways of communicating clean label due to the strict nature of the danish legislation on organic.
