It’s pretty exciting, isn’t it? The Organic Crave is a Danish snack brand on a mission to change how the world craves. That’s right, we don’t fight your cravings — we embrace them by giving you better snacks. The Organic Crave was created as a response to a snacking industry that largely uses cheap and artificial ingredients (half of which nobody understands) and a culture that makes people feel guilty about having food cravings. We realized: In order to take the guilt out of snacking, we need to take the crap out of snacks. Our products are made from organic, nutritious and delicious ingredients that people can understand and trust. 

First things first: We do not add protein to our products. The protein in our products comes from our ingredients and is largely plant-based. Our protein chips, for example, are based on 100% organic red lentils, which are naturally high in protein. 

That depends on the product, but a minimum of 12 months. 

The majority of our products are vegan. Some of the flavorings we use are not vegan.

Yes! The more people can join the party, the better.

Yes, that’s a given when you operate according to the organic legislation of the European Union and Denmark. 

We never sweeten our products with artificial sweeteners. We sometimes add a bit of organic cane sugar, but very little. A rule of thumb for The Organic Crave is to keep sugar levels below 10% in total sugars.

‘No added sugar’ is a legal claim that states that no sugars have been added. The problem with organic products is often that they use dates as the main ingredient, which are full of sugars (between 30-40%). On the other hand, non-organic products are filled with artificial sweeteners associated with a bunch of negative effects. At The Organic Crave, we believe there’s a better way, and so we choose to go for a reduced amount of organic cane sugar, aiming to lower the total amount of sugars to below 10%. 

‘High protein’ can be claimed when a product’s total energy content comes from at least 20% of protein.

Although there is no official definition for ‘clean label’, it’s about keeping the ingredient list as short as possible and using ingredients that people can actually pronounce and understand. The fact that our products are organic means that we can ensure clean label.
